WRPN Global Webisode Competition Selection!

“Remembrance”, the opening episode of Cops and Monsters: Uprising, has been selected by the WRPN.TV Global Webisode Competition!

The episode, written by BAFTA winner Debbie Moon, will compete in the competition and we’ll find out the results from July 20th.

Starring Ellen Patterson, Billy Kirkwood, Innes Anderson, Chris Bain with newcomers Stephen Purdon (River City) and Helen Cuinn, joined by Barbara Rafferty (Rab C Nesbitt) and Bill McBain (The Benny Lynch Story), the episode sees former PITS agent Maya Hedges working for a militant supernatural police force, the SPIDERS, and her first case teamed up with no nonsense SPIDERS soldier Private Colin Jack Bissett. Watch the episode below:

On August 1st we’ll be launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund and shoot episode 2, written by BAFTA winner Laura Anne Anderson.

Cops and Monsters: Uprising – New Kickstarter Launching August 1st!

On August 1st we will be launching a Kickstarter campaign to shoot Laura Anne Anderson’s new episode of Cops and Monsters: Uprising.

The latest episode written by Laura, her 2nd so far in the entire run of episodes, is titled “Bad Moon Rising”:

“A Monster roams a supernatural zone, mutilating and eating anyone it finds. Alexis is tormented by a vision of The Cult of Many Faces, and worries that her confinement is driving her to madness. Maya battles hostile SPIDERS colleagues and a bigoted new directive from sleazy Minister Clark in her mission to uphold the law. When an old acquaintance ambushes Maya outside SPIDERS HQ, desperately seeking her help, things go from bad to worse.

Werewolf therapist Jenny Connor is badly shaken – she was part of a programme aimed at helping supernaturals, and something has gone terribly wrong. A Monster has been unleashed – THE Monster.

Distrusting SPIDERS and with nobody else to turn to, Jenny enlists Maya and Alexis to help her find the Monster and put an end to the violence. The group travel to Zone 3, the Werewolf ghetto, to investigate.

Between the full moon, Maya’s split loyalties, The Cult’s hounding of Alexis, and a dark secret kept by Jenny, it’ll be a wonder if they make it out of Zone 3 alive.”

We’ll be attempting to raise £3360 – which will allow us to pay our cast, crew, post production, props, editing, sound design, music, makeup, catering and more – offering signed scripts, DVDs, cast photos, walk on roles in the new episode, associate producer credits, producer credits, executive producer credits on IMDb, and more. This will be our last attempt to fund our next episode. We have 5 scripts left to film – written by Simon Underwood, James T Harding, Philip Lawrence and Fraser Coull. All episodes we manage to film will be streamed on Amazon Prime US, UK and Amazon Instant Video.

If you’d like to support our new series but would prefer to pledge to us monthly you can join us on Patreon instead. Click this link to find out more.

Cops and Monsters: Series 2 News

Just a little update for all of our Cops and Monsters fans and supporters!

Laura Anne Anderson, James T Harding, Simon Underwood, Philip Lawrence and Fraser Coull have all turned in their episodes for series 2. At the moment we have shot scenes from all episodes apart from episode 5. This was due to our successful crowdfunding campaign for Debbie Moon’s opening episode, “Remembrance”.

Our current plan is to raise a small amount of money either on our Drip page or Patreon. If we raise £300 then we can afford to run an extensive marketing and PR campaign to spread the word of our current available episodes and help us raise awareness of the show and funding to complete our next 5 episodes, finishing series 2. If you’d like to help us do this, then please visit Drip or Patreon to find out more.

We’ve also set up a GOFUND me page at this link to help us raise the £300 for our PR campaign.

All 8 episodes of series 1 can be watched on Amazon Prime Video HERE and Amazon Instant Video. It’s also available on Social Screen by clicking here. Our opening episode of series 1 and our spin off minisode, “Trapped” can be watched for free above.

You can also watch episode 1 of series 2, “Remembrance”, by Debbie Moon below:

We’ve also got a preview of “Bad Moon Rising” by Laura Anne Anderson which you can watch below. If you’d like to help us fund the episode please visit our Patreon or Drip pages to get involved.

Once we’ve raised the £300 needed, we can start our marketing campaign before launching our new Kickstarter campaign to raise the £4000 required to shoot our new 20 minute episode.

From episode 2 onwards we’ll be introducing Scottish actress and River City star Louise McMenemy to our cast, as werewolf activist Ava McIntyre. You can find out more about Louise’s character in her interview:

Please do keep spreading the word of the show so we can continue to make our 2nd series. With your help we can bring it to life!

Bad Moon Rising – Kickstarter Now Live!

We have until March 15th to raise £5000 on Kickstarter to allow us to make our next episode of “Cops and Monsters: Uprising.”

Written by Laura Anne Anderson, “Bad Moon Rising” is the 2nd episode of series 2 and our 10th episode in total.

Whilst we were filming Debbie Moon’s opening episode, “Remembrance“, we were also able to film scenes from episodes 2, 3, 4 and 6 as we were set up in our office location and Alexis’ hideout location. As such we can now present to you an unfinished edit from our new episode above.

Episode 1 can be watched below:

“Bad Moon Rising” will see the return of our regulars: Innes Anderson, Ellen Patterson, Stephen Purdon, Chris Bain and Helen Cuinn. River City star Louise McMenemy will make her debut as werewolf and Uprising activist Ava McIntyre.

Nina and the Neurons/Molly and Mac star Katrina Bryan shall be returning as tortured werewolf Jenny Connor. This will be Katrina’s 3rd appearance on our show. You can see Katrina in action in our spin-off minisode, “Trapped”:

Over on our Kickstarter campaign you can grab perks such as signed scripts, DVDs of series 1 and episodes 1 and 2 of series 2, blu-rays, props, signed cast photos, posters, artwork, set visits, the chance to be a MONSTER in an upcoming episode and producer credits on IMDb and Amazon Prime.

We can only make the show with YOUR help and continued support.

Visit https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nightisdaymovie/cops-and-monsters-uprising-bad-moon-rising to check out the perks on offer and help us bring this new episode to life.

All 8 episodes of series 1 are available on Amazon Prime and Social Screen.

Happy 2019 – Looking to the Year Ahead!

Happy 2019 from all of us here at Cops and Monsters! We can’t wait to get back into the swing of things.

2018 was a wonderful year as we crowdfunded the funds needed to hire our 6 writers for “Uprising” – including Debbie Moon, Laura Anne Anderson, James T Harding, Simon Underwood and Philip Lawrence. Series creator Fraser Coull will also be returning to pen the series finale.

We also successfully crowdfunded our first episode, “Remembrance”, written by Wolfblood creator and BAFTA winner Debbie Moon. Ellen Patterson, Innes Anderson, Billy Kirkwood and Chris Bain all returned from series 1 and were joined by River City stars Stephen Purdon and Barbara Rafferty. Stephen joined us new series regular, playing Private Colin Jack Bissett, while his co-star, Louise McMenemy, will be joining us as werewolf activist Ava McIntyre from episode 2 onwards. Scottish actresses Helen Cuinn also joined as as SPIDERS commander Frances Stone. Bill McBain also joined us as loving husband turned zombie, Connor, in episode 1.

Due to our crowdfunding success early last year, we were able to fund a 3 day shoot – meaning that all SPIDERS office scenes and Alexis’ hideout scenes throughout the six episodes, could be filmed over two days. With the 3rd day left to film the rest of Debbie’s opening episode. Additional scenes from episodes 2, 3, 4 and 6 were shot over the first block of filming.

We are in the early stages of planning our next crowdfunding campaign, which will be to raise the £5,000 necessary for a 2 day shoot to finish episode 2, “Bad Moon Rising”, by Laura Anne Anderson. Ideally we’ll be launching in the middle of February, running for a month, allowing us to shoot the episode in April. The closer we get to £25,000 then the more of our remaining 5 episodes can be filmed this year. The money we raise goes to paying our cast and crew, locations, makeup, special effects, music, editing, sound design and editing, costumes, travel, accommodation and most importantly… food for the team!

On the 15th, 16th and 17th of February we will be in Scotland’s capital for Capital Sci-Fi Con 2019 to promote the series and screen some of our episodes, where we will hopefully find more supporters and more of an audience to get behind us.

“Bad Moon Rising”, our 2nd episode by Laura Anne Anderson, will be our 10th episode in total:

A Monster roams a supernatural zone, mutilating and eating anyone it finds.

Between the full moon, Maya’s split loyalties, The Cult’s hounding of Alexis, and a dark secret kept by Jenny, it’ll be a wonder if they make it out of Zone 3 alive.

Louise McMenemy will make her debut in our show, and we hope that Katrina Bryan will also return to her role of Jenny Connor – which will be her 3rd time in the role. You can see Katrina in action as Jenny in our minisode, “Trapped”, below:

Prior to our Kickstarter launch you can of course help us in other ways – either via Patreon, Drip on Kickstarter, Sponsorship or private funding. To find out more click on this link.

Here’s to a successful 2019 and hopefully even more Cops and Monsters for you all to enjoy!
